I started in the family business in 2003 helping my mom in the accounts receivable and now I look after all the accounting for EBD & Precision Freight Systems Inc.
I went to University for a couple of years but decided I would like to be involved in our family business and am happy I did. There is always something happening and I’m learning a lot about the business. My parents gave me a wonderful opportunity and I am proud to be a part of EBD.

SUPER B DISPATCH

It seems like I’ve been at EBD since I was born, I used to go to work with my Dad on Saturday’s and play in the tires and hang out with the Drivers. A lot has changed over the years, when I turned 18, I got my Class 1 and have driven across Canada & USA since that day. I loved being on the road but it’s important for me to support the family business and help out where I can. I have driven Super B’s since I was 18 years old so I know what it takes to make it happen. The opportunity of a lifetime became available to me last year to dispatch the flat deck division and I love what I do, I enjoy working going to work every day and working with the customers and drivers. They are an important part of our business and I believe if they are treated well, they will do a good job in return.

After I graduated high school I went to McGill University in Montreal to study Anatomy & Cell Biology, and 4 years later I have my Bachelor of Science. After I graduated from McGill I decided to come into the family business and help out where I can. I look after all the drivers pay and track fuel mileage and cost per mile on all the trucks.

In March 2003, Jon returned to EBD after he got a phone call from Bruce inviting him to become EBD’s Safety Compliance Manager. In his spare time, Jon loves to fly airplanes. He started building his own airplane about a year ago.

CANADA POST & CANADIAN FREIGHTWAYS DISPATCH

I started working for EBD in September 2001 on the Flin Flon Canada Post run. Without much experience Bruce gave me the chance for which I’ll always be thankful for and within a few months I was driving a brand new truck & trailer. A year and a half later was time for a change and I was filling in for the Canadian Freightways, Rock haul and eventually on the Supr B Flat Deck run. Through all of that I’ve learned a lot about trucking and people especially the ones I work with and a great deal about respect.
In August of 2007 Bruce asked me if I would like to become a dispatcher for Canada Post and Canadian Freightways. The answer was obviously yes and I’ve been doing that since last year and enjoying every minute of it. EBD has helped me become the person, driver and dispatcher that I am today and because of that I’ll always be loyal and thankful to Bruce and his family.

Randy joined EBD in 1996 as a lead hand. Today, as Service Manager he oversees repair and maintenance for EBD’s fleet of 100 trucks. His team of eight diesel technicians keep EBD’s fleet operating at peak performance. You can give anything to Randy and he can fix it.
Randy starts his day at 5:30 am organizing the day’s work so his team knows exactly what they need to accomplish each day. In his spare time, he enjoys carpentry work, snowmobiling and quading as well as spending time outdoors.

In Dec. of 2010 Pam & Bruce gave me the opportunity to come and work for them. I have worked in a truck related industry for 11 years and there is never a dull moment, that proved to be true at EBD. I first joined the team helping the A/R department. Currently I am working as Receptionist as well as running the EBD Store, working on the monthly Newsletter and helping to organize our monthly Staff Appreciation Days. I love working with people and the people at EBD is what makes it a fun place to work. Thank you Pam & Bruce for giving me the opportunity to become part of their team.

HOW many people can say they truly enjoy going to work? It was a lucky day for me in May of 2011 to be hired by Pam & Bruce to work for the EBD Family. With never working in the Trucking Sector taking on the accounts receivable department has been an interesting task but the biggest challenge has been receiving the approval of the chief of security.
